Ad Zones & AdSense

If you run a free, high-traffic site, advertising is a natural way to earn. The Ad Zones section makes placement simple.

Where ads go

Admin, Ad Zones lets you drop ad code (AdSense or any network) into predefined slots: header, below the hero, content top and bottom, footer, and the blog sidebars. AdSense auto-ads are also supported if you prefer Google to place them for you.

Keeping it tasteful

  • If you sell Premium, one toggle hides ads for premium members, so paying users get a clean experience.
  • Calculator pages can be kept ad-light, so the tool itself stays the focus and loads fast.

Balance earnings against experience: a few well-placed ads usually perform better than a page crowded with them.

ads.txt (required by AdSense)

Google AdSense looks for an ads.txt file and shows an "Earnings at risk" warning (and can limit ad serving) until it exists. In Settings, Advertising, paste the exact line AdSense gives you (Account, "Get started with ads.txt", for example google.com, pub-0000000000000000, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0). The site then serves it at yoursite.com/ads.txt. Leave the field blank to serve nothing.
