My changes do not appear on the site

Check these in order, because the first is the least suspected and the most expensive to get wrong.

1. Is your domain actually pointing at this server?

A domain can still resolve to an old host, or to a content delivery network sitting in front of one, long after you have moved. When that happens you are editing one site and looking at another, and everything you see is inexplicable: content missing, an old version number, changes that will not stick.

Confirm which machine answers before changing anything. Look the domain up and compare the address it returns with your hosting panel's server address. If they differ, or the lookup returns an address belonging to a delivery network, stop and fix the DNS. Nothing else you investigate will make sense until they match.

2. Is it the cache?

Pages are cached for visitors who are not logged in. Saving content clears the affected pages automatically, but a settings change or a theme edit may not. Go to Admin, Cache and purge, then check in a private window rather than the tab you have been working in.

3. Is it the browser?

Stylesheets and scripts carry a version marker so a new one is fetched after an update. If a design change still will not show, reload with the cache bypassed, and check on a phone as a second opinion.
