Connect X, Mastodon & Bluesky

X (Twitter): now paid, connect only if it is worth it

As of February 2026 X removed its free API tier for new developers and moved to pay-per-use: roughly $0.015 per post, and about $0.20 per post that contains a link. Because Social Autopilot drives traffic with links, X can get expensive quickly, so many owners skip it and lean on the free channels. If you still want it:

  1. At developers.twitter.com, create an app inside a Project (a standalone app cannot use the v2 API and returns "Client Forbidden").
  2. In User authentication settings, set Read and write permission and any required callback/website URL.
  3. Under Keys and tokens, copy the API key, API secret, and generate an Access token and Access token secret (regenerate them after setting Read and write, so they carry write permission).
  4. In NumroQ, open Channel · X, paste all four values, and click Connect.

To keep cost down, you can keep the link out of the tweet body so each post is the cheaper rate, with traffic flowing through your /links bio instead.

Mastodon (free)

  1. In your Mastodon instance, open Preferences → Development → New application, with scopes read and write.
  2. Copy the access token.
  3. In NumroQ, open Channel · Mastodon, paste your instance URL (for example https://mastodon.social) and the token, and click Connect.

Bluesky (free)

  1. In Bluesky, open Settings → App Passwords → Add App Password.
  2. In NumroQ, open Channel · Bluesky, paste your handle (for example you.bsky.social) and that app password (not your main password), and click Connect.
